No two translators are alike. The most versatile ones are good writers with a grasp of technology, culture and political processes in addition to language.
I translate from Norwegian into English. The latter is my mother tongue, though I speak Norwegian fluently after living and working in Norway for more than 15 years.
When translating official documents and research reports, precision usually trumps style. A freer approach may be appropriate with commercial, journalistic or literary texts.
I translate to both British English and American English, depending on the customer's wish. Often I strike an international tone, but there's no evading the need to choose an English variant. Honour or honor? Petrol or gasoline?
My translations are closely proofed. They should be ready to publish or upload on delivery, but I'm always willing to discuss the text and make revisions.
Competitive. Tell me a bit about the project, and I'll provide a quote without delay. Enquiries and source material are treated confidentially. (See also Contact.)
