About GibbsTranslation, editing, journalism – I am passionate about all three, and a member of the Association of Government Authorized Translators in Norway.
Before moving to Norway with my family in the 1990s I worked as an editor and reporter for The San Francisco Examiner in the United States. From Scandinavia, I have written frequently for The New York Times, Time Magazine, Scanorama Magazine and other publications (see www.waltergibbs.com). For two years I covered the Norwegian economy and politics for Thomson Reuters, the British-Canadian news agency. Now I translate and edit full time to help clients meet the communication needs of an increasingly global Norway. I was born in the U.S. city of Philadelphia and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Memberships include the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the Foreign Press Association of Norway. |
