EditingEnglish is the working language for many of Norway's big companies and organizations. This makes sense in an economy based mostly on trade. However, writing English for all to see is very different from speaking it around the office.
That's why it can be handy to know an English-language editor. Some customers just want a document proofread. In that case I'll apply a light touch ("språkvask"). Others want the full treatment. For them I look at structure, vocabulary and style. I may even have ideas to strengthen factual content. Brochures, reports and letters that contain odd syntax or grammatical errors can damage a hard-won reputation abroad, even if customers and partners never say a word. Even major corporations look amateurish when poor English creeps onto their websites. Pricing NOK 700 per hour |
